The month of August is known for flying kites high. It makes sense that it would also be women’s month. Similar to kites women are made to fly high. Meet Tamanda our Accountant/HR. She began her career in the motor industry in 2002 where she was a trainee accountant. She then moved to the CMH group under Rand Auto then in 2007. Tamanda is the is the kind of woman that Women’s Month is all about. Tamanda is a mother of one soon to be two. She has succeeded in working in a male-dominated She has an open door policy and deals with employees on a daily basis and loves interacting with employees and customers alike. Her bubbly and vibrant personality shows that she is not only a number cruncher but a people person too. Besides it being such a tough industry to break into and succeed she reckons “it’s the team you work with that paves the way, and makes it possible for success. Sharon joined our team in 2013 in the sales team. She was previously with Peugeot for one year. She took over and was super sales lady. In 2016 she decided to spread her wings and become stock controller/ invoicing clerk for the new cars department. She sources vehicles from Ford factory and various Ford dealers around the country. Sharon is the kind of woman that is thrilled about the success of other women. She is a mother of one. Her hardwork and drive to succeed have kept her on the up and up in the dealership. The day started off as an exciting one for the ladies at Birdsong old age home in Durban North, the ladies where invited to a concert by a nearby primary school. We at CMH Kempster Ford Umhlanga had offered to sponsor the ladies with transport to and from the school. As early as 8:00 am we were there and ready, waiting patiently for the ladies to get ready and transport them to the event. What a buzz it was, you could see the excitement in their eyes. Our Dealer Principal, Mr Clive Wainright was the driver for the day, driving the Ford Transit Bus which is a 7 seater, fitting all the ladies comfortably. During the trip the ladies were chatting away, and enjoying every moment, asking questions and sharing stories about the cars they have once owned. We eventually got to our destination, where the ladies were treated with joy and laughter, as they watched the concert which was acted out by the grade 1 and grade 3 children, we also got a glimpse of the concert, with our Dealer Principal Clive sitting right in front. We then transported the ladies safely back to their retirement home. It’s always a pleasure to give back to the community, giving a helping hand is what we do best at CMH Kempster Ford Umhlanga.

CMH Ford Durban South spent Saturday the 9th of September at the Dezzi Raceway and  the highlight of the day for the CMH Ford Durban South staff was the smells of fumes and sounds of roaring racing engines of cars and bikes racing around the Dezzi Raceway. There was also a variety of food and cool drink stalls on sale.                                                             Dezzi Raceway is set in the rolling hills of the South coast and just 10 minutes’ drive from Port Shepstone, the 2.5 Km track is a superb mix of tight, technical corners, blind rises and elevation changes-a challenging proposition for cars, and especially bikes with quick directional changes a must for setting a good lap time. The actions starts early on a Saturday morning with a drivers briefing at 7.00 am. For the spectators, there is a class of racing to suit all tastes from four wheels to two wheels.                                                           All the racers dangerously taking to the road to employ their races. CMH Ford has a Focus ST that is the pace car that dutifully leads all entrants on their customary warm-up laps, racers compete over course of 10 laps with a variety of different classes filling up the day. The excitement of walking around mingling with the racers and their helpers, and all working on the cars and bikes, then watch them drive on the track, such an awesome experience. If anybody wants to take a short drive on a weekend and spend a lovely day in the sun, we would recommend spending the day at Dezzi Raceway   Ford South Africa and CMH Ford are strongly committed to motorsport.

Most of us choose our career based on what we studied at school not necessarily what we enjoy doing. It was no different for a Keynes Mdaka a young man fresh from university armed with a financial degree he embarked on a career as a Pension Fund Manager at one of the top financial institutions in the country based in Sandton. Meet Keynes New Car Sales Manager at Cmh Kempster Ford in Randburg. He is a family man that enjoys adventure sports such as bunjee jumping and just about any water sport that involves adrenalin and speed. Keynes began his career in 2001 but only joined the motor industry in 2007. He happened to go into a dealership across from his workplace in search of a new vehicle when he had a light bulb moment. The sales consultant helping him at the time was friendly and seem to be enjoying her job so much he decided at that moment that is what he wanted to do. Fast forward to a few months down the line, he resigned from his job in the financial sector and became a salesman selling cars. In 2014 Keynes joined the CMH Kempster Ford Randburg family as a new vehicles salesman. He won several accolades such as Salesman of the month. In July of 2017 the position of Sales Manager for new cars department opened up and he stepped up for the role. He says mentorship from the previous manager played a vital role in his personal developments which lead him to become Sales Manager. He aspires to mentor other future managers. CMH Kempster Ford Pretoria North was proud to sponsor hole 1 on the 8th of September 2017 at the Akasia Country Club and it turned out to be one of the most outstanding days worth remembering for this year. We had such a magnificent day full of fun in the sun, laughter, good times and a good day of golfing. Meeting new clients and making sure everybody was having a fantastic day was our top priority. A few weeks ago Laz Performance came to spoil us a bit with some of their pimped up and perfectly customised Ford vehicles. Amber Schlebusch starts a typical day at 03h50. Certainly not your average teenager’s idea of an early morning, but for SA’s newest age-group triathlon champion, it is part and parcel of the demands of her sport. At just 15, Amber ”“ a Grade 10 pupil at Durban Girls College ”“ has grown used to her punishing schedule. Before school she squeezes in a 30km bike ride and a 5km run along the Golden Mile. By the afternoon she might have added a 3km swim to her training, or a session in the gym, all the while finding the time ”“ somehow ”“ to remain on top of her schoolwork. Arduous, indeed, but the results of her hard work are there to see. The past weekend saw her crowned the country’s U17 women’s triathlon champion when she dominated the field with a powerful run-leg at Aldam Estate in the Free State, to the extent that she finished 2nd overall in the U19 category. It capped a sensational few months for Amber, who prior to the national champs won a number of prestigious events around the country, including the Midlands Ultra Sprint, KZN Triathlon Champs & Discovery Triathlon School Challenge. Her victories have seen her profile in the sport grow, and she attributes this to her coach Justin Hand of Team Justin / Durban Runner, who took her under his wing last year, giving her the guidance she needed to realize what was, until then, budding potential. The pair have their eyes on next year’s Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires and Amber stands an excellent chance of competing after selection to the talent identification programme run by Triathlon South Africa, currently taking place in Johannesburg. Amber holds numerous triathlon and biathlete provincial titles. Swimming and running were identified early on by her parents as sports she could excel in. She has run and swum for KZN, and it was these beginnings that ultimately led her down the triathlon path. She remains humble to those who have helped her along the way. With a large support network of family and friends, coaches, teammates and sponsors, Amber has been allowed to flourish at her own pace, and has no hesitation meeting up with friends away from her sport. We at CMH Ford Pretoria had a fun and exciting April. Filled with a lot of hard work and events. We had 2 mall events one in Quagga Centre in the first week of April, and one in the third week of April at Wonderpark mall. Both of these events were a huge success with us receiving a lot of attention on the vehicles we had on display. Our third event was at Munies Pretoria Municipality Recreational club on Easter weekend. Where we were supporting their sporting events. Along with showing 4 different classes of Ford vehicles. And we would like to thank Munies for the invitation to come and show our vehicles. We would also like to thank Wonder Park Mall for inviting use to come and show a Ford Focus RS for the opening of the new The Fast and Furious film. It was a great experience for us as a dealer to showcase one of our top sports vehicles. And lastly, we had some great specials for the end of April, after the Easter weekend. We had a wonderful month as a dealer and would like to thank all our clients for making this possible.
