A Great Christmas Surprise at CMH Ford Durban South

November 8, 2023 By Rokkit

A great Christmas surprise Christmas has come early for a customer Mariana Dereksen from her husband Lee Dereksen. The planning took place two months prior to Christmas. We all had to keep the great secret, Mr. Lee Dereksen told us his wife works very hard and is under a lot of pressure at work, and deserves to be spoilt with a new car. Lee bought her the top of the range of the Focus. Lee had a personalized plate made, U C NOW KZN because that is a saying that she always says. We had to get flowers, chocolates, and rose petals to put around the vehicle in a heart shape. When the day arrived for her to fetch the vehicle, he had to tell her that he is going to fit a tow bar on her vehicle for them to go to Johannesburg. This was so cute when they had to pick up the new vehicle, told her to change her clothes, she asked why? Lee said he had to think quickly then said it is so hot outside, put something cooler on. He wants her to come with and see if she likes the tow bar. When they drove in her vehicle was in the front of the workshop, her first words were they didn’t even wash my vehicle, Lee then said to Mariana let us go in and ask why. As Mariana walked in the door she spotted the number plate and burst into tears, she couldn’t stop thanking Lee and the staff involved for such a lovely surprise. Her astonishment made the staff cry. Hugs were flying because they have become such good friends at our dealer ship. We have all gone through both her pregnancies and see how the boys are growing up so fast. Stacey sat in the vehicle with Mariana to show all the features and how the self-parking works. Such an awesome ending.

New Ford Fusion Runner-up at Car of the Year Award

November 8, 2023 By Rokkit

Ford Fusion Car of the Year Awards   At a glittering gala dinner, held at Emperor’s Palace, Gauteng on Tuesday night, the all-new Ford Fusion has placed second in the 2016 WesBank / SAGMJ Car of the Year (COTY) awards. A fantastic achievement for Ford's sedan newcomer, bolstering Independent Media’s Motoring's choice of the Fusion as the Best Family Car for 2015. This is no mean feat considering the scope and strength of the competition, with the ultimate accolade at the end of the night going to the game-changing Volvo XC90 premium SUV. Judged by a panel of 26 motoring journalists, 12 finalist cars are chosen to compete for Car of the Year and are awarded points and scored on a variety of categories including interior design & practicality, exterior aesthetics, safety & technology, performance, handling & dynamics, efficiency, value for money and overall excellence. From the SAGMJ, "Beaten by a narrow yet decisive margin, both the Ford Fusion and Mazda2 are for all intents and purposes winners in their own right and respective segments." “The Fusion is one of the most technologically advanced Fords yet introduced in South Africa,” says Tracey Delate, General Marketing Manager, Ford Motor Company Sub-Saharan Africa. “It’s fitting that it has been selected as a Car of the Year finalist, as it embodies Ford’s latest design language and its most sophisticated technologies, many of which set new benchmarks in its class. “From convenience technologies such as SYNC®2 and Active Park Assist to safety technologies including Pre-Collision Alert with Head-Up Display, Fusion boasts an outstanding array of safety, security, convenience and comfort features typically associated with luxury cars competing in the premium segment.”

All-new Ford Figo destined to be compact car champion

November 8, 2023 By Rokkit

figo-hatch-front-1 (1) The all-new Ford Figo, due in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2015, is destined to be a compact car champion by offering unprecedented levels of style, feature-rich smart technologies and high levels of safety, while retaining the Figo’s established reputation for superb fuel efficiency and overall value. “The Ford Figo has been a remarkable success story in South Africa since it was launched in 2010,” says Tracey Delate, General Marketing Manager at Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA). “From the outset the Figo’s strong price point, smart features and the option of fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines made it one of the top contenders in the Sub-B segment. Last year the Figo held an average of 15-percent share of this segment. “The all-new Figo builds on that legacy by combining sophisticated contemporary styling, a whole new range of Ford’s trend-setting technologies such as Ford’s SYNC® integrated multimedia and connectivity system, as well as a modern and welcoming cabin that offers more space and improved safety,” Delate states. “The Figo will once again be extremely competitive in terms of overall value.” For the first time, the Figo will be available in two body styles, including the familiar five-door hatchback as well as a new four-door sedan. Although the full line-up will be confirmed closer to launch, the range will be broader compared to the current Figo due to the addition of more derivatives and specification levels (and the option of the hatch and sedan body styles). Both petrol and diesel models will be available, offering impressive fuel economy, power and torque. Customers will also have the choice of manual or automatic transmissions. The eye-catching styling is emphasized by the trapezoidal grille, complemented by a raked bonnet and bold, elongated headlamps. Sweeping, curved lines flowing from the front to the rear create a sense of movement. The five-door hatch incorporates a rising roofline with a sporty spoiler and neat tailgate accentuated by two distinct crease lines. The sedan version echoes the theme and adds improved loading capacity. The interior is also completely new, with an attractive design that provides high levels of comfort and space, complemented with impressive quality and attention to detail. Innovative smart features that will impress tech-savvy buyers include (depending on model) a new device-docking station that serves as the driver’s connection point to the world of mobility, Bluetooth with Voice Activation, the programmable MyKey® function, as well as electronic automatic temperature control. Safety is also a top priority, with a minimum of dual front airbags, extending to full-length side airbags. This is backed up by ABS brakes across the range, plus Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) with Hill Launch Assist on the top derivatives.

Sprints under 5 seconds with the all-new Mustang

November 8, 2023 By Rokkit

ford_blog_1 Ford Motor Company today announced that the all-new Ford Mustang will deliver 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration in under 5 seconds ”“ making it the fastest accelerating high-volume Ford model ever offered in Europe. The company also revealed that more than 2,200 customers have ordered an all-new Ford Mustang since the iconic car became available to order across Europe earlier this year. The Ford Mustang ”“ on sale in Europe for the first time in the car’s 50-year history ”“ is available with Ford’s 5.0-litre V8 engine delivering 421 PS and 530 Nm of torque, or the more fuel-efficient 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine delivering 317 PS and 432 Nm of torque. The 5.0-litre V8 fastback model with six-speed manual transmission reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standing start in 4.8 seconds ”“ faster than any Ford in the Europe since the low-volume Ford GT supercar launched in 2005. The Ford Mustang 2.3-litre EcoBoost fastback manual reaches the marker in 5.8 seconds. Ford Mustang drivers can optimise the car’s performance to suit their mood and driving conditions using Selectable Drive Modes, and away from the public highway can use Track Apps to monitor driving performance. Ford Mustang 5.0-litre V8 drivers also can achieve the fastest possible acceleration off the line on the track assisted by Launch Control technology. Mustang also delivers up to 0.97 g-force when cornering. “The new Ford Mustang will be wickedly fast off the line and throw you back in your seat with a thrilling engine soundtrack,” said Hermann Salenbauch, Mustang vehicle line director. “But Mustang isn’t just fast in a straight line. The ride and handling will be a revelation for European drivers.” Equipped with Ford’s 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine the new Ford Mustang also delivers up to 8.0 l/100 km (35.3 mpg) fuel efficiency and 179 g/km CO2 emissions.* Fun on road and track The all-new Ford Mustang’s high performance engines are supported by a standard Performance Pack in Europe that delivers uprated brakes and cooling for high-speed driving. A sophisticated chassis and body structure, and advanced technology, also help optimise driving dynamics to deliver the sporty experience Ford Mustang customers demand. Selectable Drive Modes are controlled using toggle switches in the centre console and adjust the AdvanceTrac electronic stability control, throttle response, automatic gear-shift patterns, and steering to match Normal, Sport+, Track or Snow/Wet settings. Selectable Effort Electric Power Assisted Steering enables drivers to choose a Normal, Comfort or Sport steering weight and feel. To help drivers get the most from the car at the track, the Ford Mustang also delivers Track Apps that can be controlled via the steering wheel and viewed in the instrument panel, including accelerometer, acceleration timer and brake performance, which measures braking time and distance from a set speed. Available for the 5.0-litre V8 with manual transmission, the Launch Control system holds the engine at a pre-set value between 3,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm with the accelerator fully depressed. When the clutch is released, torque delivery to the rear wheels is controlled for maximum traction and consistent standing starts. An electronic Line Lock system also available for the 5.0-litre V8 applies only the front brakes, allowing drivers to the warm the rear tyres. The Ford Mustang uses fully independent suspension front and rear for sporty dynamics and comfort, including integral-link rear suspension that optimises ride comfort and mechanical grip, and double-ball-joint front MacPherson struts that enable large, powerful brakes without affecting steering feel. The body structure is 28 per cent stiffer than the previous generation Mustang. Weight distribution of 54 per cent at the front for the 5.0-litre V8 and 53 per cent at the front for the 2.3”‘litre EcoBoost contributes to responsive and precise handling. Lightweight materials include aluminium used for the bonnet, front wings, suspension, transmission and brakes. High-strength steels, laser welding and hydro-forming techniques contribute to the stiffer body for an enhanced driving experience and safety. Classic design and modern equipment The new Ford Mustang is available in fastback and convertible bodystyles with six-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and features classic design elements including three-dimensional, tri-bar taillamps, signature trapezoidal grille and shark-bite front fascia. Ford has started production of the first European specification Ford Mustangs at its Flat Rock facility, Michigan, U.S., in 10 exterior colours and equipped as standard with 19-inch wheels, automatic HID headlamps, dual-zone climate control, LED tail lamps, and a rear diffuser. Further standard equipment includes a nine-speaker sound system, and SYNC 2 voice control connectivity with 8-inch colour touch screen. Ford Mustang is exclusively available to order in Europe at new FordStore locations opening across the region primarily in metropolitan areas. The first vehicles are set to reach dealerships continental Europe from July and the U.K. from October.
