THE ALL-POWERFUL MUSTANG
The Ford Mustang has been around for nearly 60 years, kicking off in 1964 and continuing nonstop. The sixth era made its debut in 2015 and has just gotten better over time, with progressed performance and handling, better tech and up to date styling. Last year’s big news was the reintroduction of the Mustang Mach 1; the 2022 Ford Mustang gets a few minor updates. The noticeable changes are a trio of visual packages and a loss of 10 horsepower and 10 lb-ft of torque for the V8 engine in each of the GT and Mach 1 variants. Ford has a justifiable reason for this as it looks to reduce the number of harmful gas emissions.
How does the Mustang drive? The Mustang GT is impressively quick thanks to its gutsy V8. The brakes complement the vehicle, giving you a great deal of confidence to brake in difficult situations.
How cosy is the Mustang? You may be at ease for hours in the Mustang, that’s quite a feat considering how performance-oriented it is. The seats provide incredible support, and the cabin is generally very quiet. The V8 sounds amazing, and that’s exactly what you’ll need to pay attention to the beauty of the vehicle.
The temperature controls are front and centre, and well-positioned vents distribute cool air to the front passengers. The automatic weather management system rarely needs to be adjusted once it is set. The ventilated seats are quick to cool you down on warm days and keep you cosy on long drives to ensure maximum satisfaction.
How’s the technology? Muscle vehicles do not necessarily scream “high-tech,” but the Mustang gets full marks for the availability of newer features. Ford’s Sync interface is the pinnacle of voice controls, an 8-inch touchscreen, and Apple CarPlay or Android integration.
The superior protection features (blind-spot tracking, lane assist, among others) are properly tuned to prevent fake alarms. The forward collision warning is as it should be, startling. The adaptive cruise management executes with easy inputs and maintains the set speeds on steep downhills.
The Verdict
This high-performance, powerful, and thrilling ride is basically screaming your name. This vehicle not only offers you all the features of a modern car but still gives you that vintage muscle feel which allows timeless satisfaction.
